Jim is the founding member of Atypical Situation. He has been playing guitar since he was 12. Jim plays Ovation guitars (I know, Dave plays a Taylor!), and collects live DMB shows.
Kathryn found Atypical Situation by answering an ad on "Craigs List". She plays electric and acoustic violin, keyboards, and provides background vocal harmonies. She also enjoys really good beers!
Mike has been playing drums for a long time, and is one of the founding members of the Wilder Trio. Mike joined Atypical Situation because it was something very different from what he has been playing. Mike looks forward to the challenge of being Atypical Situation's "Carter".
Joe and Jim actually met at an open mic night at Crossroads, in Garwood, NJ. Jim approached Joe with the opportunity to play in a DMB Tribute band, and to Jim's amazement, Joe said "Yes!". Joe adds a very tasteful and soulful sound to Atypical Situation, and plays various saxophones as well as flute.
Holding down the bottom end is RKS! Rich is an amazing bass player, and has been a part of the New Jersey music scene for some time now. RKS plays in various Jazz projects, and adds a fullness to the Atypical Situation sound.
Rick is a talented and multi-faceted musician. He is an accomplished songwriter and composer. When he's not playing with Atypical Situation, Rick is working on his project:PH101, as well as playing with other bands around the area. You can often catch Rick playing at the Cambridge Inn, with "Tommy and Friends".
